Inclement Weather Policy
As stated in the handbook, Saint John Paul the Great follows Prince William County Policy Schools (PWCS) in regards to school closings, late openings, and early dismissals in cases of inclement weather.
If PWCS calls Code Orange, Red, or Green, there will be no in-person classes. As far as transitioning to online learning, our handbook also states "If school closes unexpectedly for a single day, there will be no academic requirements. If, however, the school is closed for an extended period of time the school will transition to elearning."
We will follow Prince William County as far as 2 hour delays, with classes beginning at 9:45am (even on Tuesday late-start mornings).
On days Prince William County may call Code Orange, Red, or Green, all after-school activities/events will be canceled.
Occasionally, Saint John Paul the Great will make a decision regarding school closings and delays different than those of Prince William County. Parents should receive an automated message (phone call, e-mail, text message etc.) regarding such closings and delays.
