General Online Resources
Textbook & Online Resource – AP US Government
Students may access the book’s CourseMate resources via www.cengagebrain.com/ and using the passcode on your Printed Access Card. There is also a free companion website for American Government: Institutions and Policies, 14Eavailable at www.cengagebrain.com/shop/ISBN/9781285195094 .
Online resources should be used for supplemental study and review. Please review the online resources prior to the end of the first week of class to identify elements that will be helpful in your learning. The online resources may also be used for homework and class work assignments throughout the semester. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with these resources early in the semester.
From time to time you will be asked to research different policies and positions on them. The following are think tanks that I suggest you examine in your research when applicable:
Liberal: Center for American Progress https://www.americanprogress.org/about/mission/
Independant: The Brookings Institution www.brookings.org
Conservative: The Heritage Foundation www.heritage.org
Libertarian: The Cato Institute www.cato.org
Another great resource: Congressional Budget Office: https://www.cbo.gov/
