Sandy Smith

Teacher Bio

   Mrs. Smith received her B.A. in math from Hendrix College, earned her M.S. in math at Vanderbilt University, and completed her M.A. in Education through the University of Phoenix. 2024-25 is her twelfth year teaching at D'Evelyn, although she has lived in the neighborhood for nearly 30 years and remembers watching the construction of D'Evelyn's building. Mrs. Smith has also taught math at area junior or senior schools for an additional seven years, math and English in Egypt for two years, and university mathematics classes part-time for seven years.

Mrs. Smith's two adult children are graduates of JeffCo Schools; her daughter and son-in-law both teach instrumental music in the Seattle area, and her son is a mechanical engineer designing satellite components in the metro area. Her youngest "baby" is her eight year-old black Labrador named Bendicion (Bendi).

Mrs. Smith looks forward to a great new school year with her students.
