Accessing Student's Account on a Laptop or Desktop

  1. Open a Google Chrome browser. Other browsers such as Safari and Internet Explorer won't work.

  2. Login to Google at the top right of the Google homepage

    • Username/Email Address - student ID number (they use to login on Chromebook and at the lunch counter) plus @jeffcoschools.us (e.g. 1234567@jeffcoschools.us)

    • Password - same as the one they use on their Chromebook

  3. Sync so bookmarks show up

  4. Remember to logout of browser when finished so parents' surfing isn't being filtered by Jeffco

When accessing student-bookmarked sites and digital work from home on a device other than their school-issued Chromebook, the Google Chrome browser must first be logged into the student's Google account. The student's login is their email address which is their student number followed by @jeffcoschools.us. Their student number is the same they use at school for logging in and at the lunch counter (e.g. 1234567@jeffcoschools.us). Their password is the same as they use to log in at school. Then, access to bookmarks, websites, and digital work is the same as in the classroom. Parents will want to log the browser out of their child's Google account after their son or daughter is done using the internet to prevent Jeffco's filters from limiting their access.
