Dear Families,
Hello! My name is Erin Ranum, and I am so happy to be able to introduce myself as your child’s teacher for the 2023/2024 school year!
I am a proud product of Jeffco Schools and this will be my 21st year teaching for Jeffco. I earned my teaching degree at the University of Northern Colorado and my MA in Educational Counseling. My husband Craig and I love spending time outside with our two children and our dog Zeke. Our son Logan, is a Junior at Chatfield High School and our daughter, Madeline, is starting 9th grade at Chatfield. I feel incredibly lucky to teach; it is truly my passion.
This year I hope to make learning hands on, engaging, and to spark a love of learning in the hearts of all of my students.

First grade learning and experiences include:
Differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
Social Emotional learning lessons that promote self regulation, growth mindset, and relationship building.
Reading for meaning, comprehension, and application.
Sequential phonics instruction to support reading and writing
Reading and writing multiple genres including: fairytales, biographies, narratives, nonfiction, poetry, and procedural.
Mathematical problem solving and collaboration utilizing the following skills: data analysis, addition and subtraction within 20, place value and numbers within 120, measurement, and geometry.
Science and social studies curriculum integrated across curriculum.
