Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!
Welcome to 5th Grade! I am excited to begin my tenth year of teaching at Green Gables. Although many people think that working with pre-teens is crazy, I think I am lucky to be a part of such an incredible time in the students' lives.
I grew up in Ohio and attended Bowling Green State University, earning a degree in Elementary Education. After moving to Colorado, I was able to continue my education at Regis University, receiving a Master's degree in their CLD program. Throughout my career, I have had opportunities to teach at various grade levels, but the intermediate grades have always been my favorite.
My husband and I have raised 3 kids in Lakewood and we are happy to call it 'home.' Our two older children have completed college, and have found that independence comes with a lot of monthly bills and more responsibilities. Our youngest child will be a senior in high school this year, celebrating a year of 'lasts' just like the 5th graders.
I am so lucky to be a part of the Green Gables community. I am inspired each year by the passion that the students have for learning, the engagement from our supportive families, and the circle of love that is felt by each person when they enter our building. I am looking forward to an awesome year!
Hello All! I'm Shannon Hahn, and this will be my eleventh year at Green Gables. I can't wait to continue my adventures in fifth grade this year!
I earned my Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University (GO RAMS!), and went on to earn my teaching credentials from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. I also completed my Masters in Reading Education from Grand Canyon University.
I was born in California, but moved to Gunnison, CO when I was 12. I currently live in Morrison with my husband, Mitch, who is a middle school ELA teacher (it's a family thing, I guess!). Most of our time is occupied by our 6 year old daughter, Norah, and our almost-four-year-old son, Hayes. They are so fun, and we love watching them learn and grow! In my free time I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, watching football, going to concerts, listening to podcasts, attempting to garden, camping, and reading.
My "why" will always be my students--they are the reason that I love what I do every day! I will always do my best to do what is best for them socially, emotionally, and academically. I can't wait to get this year started, and get to know each of their unique personalities. Know that they will be loved and cared for in their days spent in our classroom!
