Weight Training 

I strongly suggest every potential player on the AW Boys Golf Team spend a minimum of 3 hours per week this summer in the weight room.  Below are some ideas for you to gain distance and endurance for the season.


Below are two videos about Rory McIlroy that gives an idea of what he does to to get stronger to better control the club throughout the swing.  The program I would like everybody to start with is the Kettle ball exercises for golfers, all gyms should have kettle balls available, start light until you have mastered the form of the exercise.

Watch this video to get an understanding how and why one of the best strikers of the ball decided to begin a weight training program. Understand, as he says, you have to start somewhere and he was not very strong in the beginning.
