演 題 :Electromagnetic Scattering and Imaging of Rough Surface: Recent Progress

講演概要:

MICROWAVE remote sensing, both active and passive, has evolved into an indispensible tool for monitoring our earth over the past decades. Inferring the geophysical parameters of the land, ocean, and atmosphere from microwave observations is one of the most important applications in the microwave remote sensing domain, which has benefitted a variety of environmental disciplines including hydrology, meteorology, oceanography, geography and so forth. Reliable and yet accurate surface scattering and emission models help, in more efficient manner, gaining physical insights into interaction of microwaves with media bounded by rough interfaces, which in turn can not only expand and improve our understanding of the surface scattering and emission mechanism, but also guide the design of appropriate sensor configuration for specific applications as well as the development of retrieval algorithm for the parameters of interest. Accordingly, there is an increasing interest and importance in the study of the scattering and emission modeling of the rough surface. Advance of theoretical research in stochastic electromagnetic fields and modern processing techniques has been progressively made in swift pace. The lecture covers a general, but not comprehensive, treatment of subjects closely related to the scattering and emission of randomly rough surface by ways of theory modeling, numerical simulation, and laboratory measurements, in both mono-static and multi-static observation geometries. This lecture also discusses, if time allowed, imaging theory and novel technique, and their interplay, for random media in microwave frequency region.

講演概要:

First part of this talk will discuss how the community is converging towards the IoT vision having worked in wireless sensor networking and Machine-2-Machine (M2M) communication. This will follow a general discussion of security challenges in IoT. Finally I will discuss some results from an ongoing projects on security of bodywork devices and IoT. Wireless bodyworn sensing devices are becoming popular for fitness, sports training and personalized healthcare applications. Securing the data generated by these devices is essential if they are to be integrated into the current health infrastructure and employed in medical applications. In this talk, I will discuss a mechanism to secure data provenance and location proof for these devices by exploiting symmetric spatio-temporal characteristics of the wireless link between two communicating parties. Our solution enables both parties to generate closely matching `link' fingerprints, which uniquely associate a data session with a wireless link such that a third party, at a later date, can verify the links the data was communicated on. These fingerprints are very hard for an eavesdropper to forge, lightweight compared to traditional provenance mechanisms, and allow for interesting security properties such as accountability and non-repudiation. I will present our solution with experiments using bodyworn devices in scenarios approximating actual device deployment. I will also discuss our development of a secure reprogramming framework for IoT devices over wireless networks.

本セッションでは,第5世代移動 通信システムなど の将来システムに提要可能なアンテナ・伝搬の諸技術を とりあげ,セッションを通じて 本分野の活性化を図ることを目的とする.
