Welcome to the Monroe Elementary PBIS site for home. We at Monroe believe that to educate the whole child we need to work closely with families. As part of that working relationship we want to provide a resource that uses our behavioral program at school for home use.
Monroe PBIS Mission:
The purpose of implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports at Monroe Elementary school is to create a safe and respectful learning community by having common language, increasing community involvement, including families, acknowledging successes, and identify problem areas through data.
What does PBIS mean?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. It is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture that is needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. These expectations remain the same for students on the playground, in school, and on the bus; but what about at home?
As a Response to Intervention model, PBIS applies a three-tiered system of support, and a problem-solving process to enhance the capacity of schools to effectively educate all students.
You may hear your child talk about the Mustang Manners. Here at Monroe we have 4 Mustang Manners, they are......
BE READY
BE RESPECTFUL
BE RESPONSIBLE
BE SAFE
Each classroom creates expectations based on these manners. If you click on Classroom Expectations you can find your child's classroom expectations and those of other areas in our school.
