NOTICE OF OPEN MEETING AND VOTE TO CLOSE MEETING, 11-13-2025

NOTICE OF CANDIDATE FILING

Notice is hereby given that the Jamestown C-1 School District will accept declaration of candidacy for directors who shall serve as members of the Board of Education of said school district for one candidate for a one year term and for three candidates for three year terms. Filing will begin on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., and filing will close at 5:00 p.m. on December 30, 2025. Times for filing on all other dates will be during regular school hours (8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) on the days that school is in session. On December 19, 2025 school will be in session 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the beginning of Christmas Break. Filing will not occur on days that the school district’s central office is closed due to inclement weather or other health-related reasons. Filing will also not occur on the following holidays and breaks when the school district’s central office is closed: Christmas break, December 22, 2025 – December 29, 2025 with the exception of December 30, 2025, the last day of filing, we will be open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Declarations may be filed with Mrs. Amber Bouse at the District Superintendent’s office located at 222 School Street, Jamestown, Missouri 65046. One director will be elected to serve for a term of one year and three directors will be elected to serve for a term of three years at the General Municipal Election which will be held on the 7th day of April 2026. Candidates will appear on the ballot in the order of filing.

Get ready to cheer on our Jamestown Eagles Basketball Teams as they compete at Mizzou Arena on December 5th!

Here’s what you need to know if you’re joining us to support the teams:

🏀Games on 12/5: JHS Girls vs. North Shelby @ 11:00am, JHS Boys vs. North Shelby @ 12:30 pm

🎟️ Tickets: $10 Day Pass at the door or via the QR code below (No Readmittance), $5 Student Pass (with Student ID), Weekend Passes available online for $20 at www.normstewart.org

🚗 Parking: All fans and families should park in Lots I, O, K, or M and enter at the front of Mizzou Arena by Norm Stewart’s statue.

Note: Anyone entering through the athletic offices door will be redirected to the front entrance.

🍔 Concessions: Concessions are provided by Special Olympics Missouri, and all proceeds benefit their great cause!

💡 Fan Tip: Don’t miss the pulled pork with Blues Hog BBQ sauce — it’s a must-try!

National Honor Society Induction

On September 10, 2025, the Jamestown C-1 School District proudly hosted its annual National Honor Society ceremony, recognizing the induction of new members and the installation of incoming officers.

This year’s newly elected officers are: President, Samantha Wilson; Vice Presidents, Marie Baepler and Braxton Turner; Secretary, Olivia Meisenheimer and Treasurer: Owen Gentzsch.

New members welcomed into the National Honor Society include: Clara Baepler, Kirstyn Deraps, Sydney Derendinger, Sophia Griffin, Emma Heimericks and Rylee Hirschvogel.

Congratulations to all students honored for their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to service. Keep serving, Eagles!

Happenings in Softball

At this year’s home run derby (also known as the game at Slater), Olivia Meisenheimer hit 2 solo-shot home runs and Sydney Derendinger and Zoey Borts got their 1st career home runs! Way to rattle those bats, Ladies!

Olivia Meisenheimer has committed to play Division 1 softball at Drake University in Iowa after graduation. She will continue her education while showing her skills on the mound. We are so proud of you, Olivia, and know you will do great things! Knock it out of the park, Eagle!

Meet Our New Staff

Ms. Taylor Richardson

2025-26 2nd Grade Teacher

Ms. Taylor Richardson is a local Missourian and proud Cherokee Native American. She lives in Columbia with her boyfriend, their dog (Maxine) and their cat (Cheesers). Although she has worked with children in education for 6 years, this will be her first year as a public school teacher after attending Western Governor's University. Taylor is passionate about creating a nurturing space where students feel seen, supported, and inspired, so they are excited to learn!
Outside of class, Ms. Richardson enjoys running with Maxine, reading, watching the NFL and she is always up for an adventure outdoors. Taylor leads with heart and is deeply committed to helping every child succeed. She is excited and ready to connect with families and colleagues to support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth! Welcome to Jamestown, Taylor!

Mrs. Ally Barbour

2025-26 MS Math & Science Teacher

Ally Barbour is excited to be joining the Jamestown team as a middle school math and science teacher. She earned her degree in Agricultural Education from Mizzou and has had the opportunity to teach and work with students in a variety of settings, including Milan C-2 and Sturgeon R-V. Mrs. Barbour is passionate about helping students grow—in and out of the classroom—and loves making education hands-on and meaningful.

Outside of school, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her husband, Trenton, and her dog, Charlie. She’s looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming part of the Jamestown community.

Mrs. Abby Breshears

2025-26 Principal

Mrs. Abby Breshears is excited to bring her experience and passion for education to Jamestown as the new K-12 principal. She currently serves as an instructional coach at Emporia Middle School, where she leads professional development for staff, mentors new teachers and oversees assessment implementation and data analysis. She also has experience teaching middle school business and computer courses and has coached as both a head girls' basketball coach and an assistant boys' basketball coach.

Mrs. Breshears earned her bachelor’s degree in business education from Central Methodist University before completing her master’s in educational administration at Emporia State University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in organizational leadership at Rockhurst University.

Growing up in Glasgow, Missouri, Mrs. Breshears developed a deep appreciation for the strong sense of community that small schools provide. She looks forward to fostering that same close-knit environment in Jamestown and building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.

Outside of work, Mrs. Breshears enjoys running, playing golf and spending time with family. She got married in December and has been enjoying this new chapter of life. She is eager to contribute to the Jamestown community and is committed to supporting the success of its students.

Mrs. Amber Bouse

2025-26 Superintendent

Mrs. Amber Bouse is excited to continue her journey at Jamestown C-1, now as Superintendent. She considers it an honor to lead a school with such stellar students, an extremely dedicated staff and a supportive school community. She feels fortunate to be part of Jamestown School and excited to support the students, families and community.

This will be her 9th year in education, working with students in kindergarten through 6th grades for the past 8 years. Mrs. Bouse started her formal education earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Early Childhood, from Drury University. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Instructional Technology at Drury University and Specialist Degree in Administration at William Woods University. She was a member of the Aspiring Leadership Program at Camdenton Schools in 2023-2024. She has served on numerous leadership committees over the years including the building leadership team, attendance committee, parent advisory board, MSTA liaison, and CSIP team.

Mrs. Bouse is excited that serving as Superintendent at Jamestown will provide her the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Jamestown teachers and staff, while also remaining connected to students learning and growing in the classroom. She is looking forward to working with the staff and community as a partner in education and facilitating the growth of instructional practices at Jamestown.

She currently resides in Camdenton, MO with her husband and youngest son. She has two amazing sons (Logan and Braeden) who have taught her that every child is uniquely different. In her spare time, she loves reading, kayaking, hiking, and enjoying time with family and friends. She grew up in a small rural community and spent her high school years active in the FFA/Vo-Ag program and raising farm animals.
