Eeqbal Hassim

Dr. Eeqbal Hassim is an education consultant specialising in intercultural education, international education, and the development of general capabilities. He holds the title of Associate Professor (Honorary Principal Fellow) at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE), The University of Melbourne. Eeqbal has worked with education providers, systems and networks, both nationally and internationally, across a range of different curricula. He is an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)® Qualified Administrator and has been collaborating with the Council of International Schools (CIS) on intercultural learning and global citizenship projects over a number of years. He holds a BA with First-Class Honours and a PhD from The University of Melbourne. Born in Singapore, Eeqbal migrated to Australia at the age of 11. He is well published in his field of expertise and has delivered keynotes around Australia and internationally. A native speaker of Malay, Eeqbal has fond memories of growing up in Singapore and visiting family in Malaysia.
