Grading

I use a 5 point grading scale for all assignments in class. All assignments in class are worth a certain amount of points (depending on the assignment) and then these points are converted to the 5 point scale. Assignments are also weighted into 2 categories: assessment 80% (projects, labs, quizzes/tests) and practice 20% (daily work and homework). Everything in the grade book will be reflected with this 5 point scale.

5= 100%

4= 95%

3= 85%

2= 75%

1= 65%

0 or M (missing)= 50%

Example:

A project in class is graded out of 10 points. These points are then converted into the 5 point scale (above).

10/10 = 5

9/10=4

8/10=3

7/10=2

6 and under=1

Missing or not completed= 0 or M
