Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC)
The CILC provides hundreds of virtual field trips every year, from learning about animals, visiting different places around the world to meeting with leaders in specific industries and careers, there is truly a virtual experience for every class.
This year CenturyLink awarded our district with a grant that allows us to take advantage of field trips that have a fee attached. This opens up some amazing opportunities for our students!!
To begin exploring all the different field trips available (PreK-12) visit www.cilc.org
Please see the video or written directions for help in signing up!
As far as things to prepare:
Watch your email for updates from the provider and double check the CILC site for the event details. Sometimes there will be additional program materials to share with your students ahead of the trip to help them prepare.
The provider will let you know how you'll be connecting and will send you the link ahead of time, they will also most likely set up a test day with you to test the connection. Try your best to make this time work with them, it will make you feel much better about your actual field trip day!
Prep like you would for a normal field trip as far as discussing how to behave, showing Tiger Pride
Patience is important, depending on the field trip and if other schools are connected sometimes students have to wait while connections reset or another school has their turn to ask questions, etc.
