Why is Skyward important?

Through this platform students and parents can find how students are doing in class. I am very meticulous with my Gradebook. As a parent I also want to check grades, see if my children have missing assignments and most importantly see the details on the assignment.

Is the grade I am seeing the actual grade?

Yes, I update grades in a timely matter. If you see an assignment as missing and zero for more than 3 days, it most likely means a students didn't turn it in. Students know that if they need more time to turn in an assignment due to illness, not understanding the assignment quite yet, or just because life happens. Students can talk to me.

I am always available after school for extra help.

Communication is important. I much rather have a student come to me for help and/or for extra time than see a student fail, resource to translating sources, or copy off other students.

I want to see my students success and feel that they are learning and not just "being" in a class.

What is the assignment about?

If you go to Gradebook on Skyward you will see the class' name, period and teacher. On the next columns are the grades per quarter. If you click on the grade you will see the assignments and the grade the student received according to his/her efforts.

If you want to know what the assignments consisted on, click on the assignment's name and you will read a thorough description of the assignment. When the assignment is online I attach the link to assignment on the description.

I do not attach documents anymore because all worksheets, classroom notes, and other printable resources can be accessed through Google Classroom.
