Bemidji Soccer originated in 1989 under founder Dan Bryant. Coach Bryant ran the program for 4 years before stepping aside to help start Bemidji Youth Soccer.
Dan Jaeger took over the reigns in 1993 and was the school's varsity coach for 2 years.
Head Coach: Rick Toward has been the varsity coach since 1995. Prior to that he coached the junior varsity for 2 years. He has been chosen Section 8 coach of the year 3 times and was named the Minnesota Class A coach of the year in 2016. Rick is also a coach for Bemidji Youth Soccer and has been the coaching coordinator since 2010. Contact Rick
Assistant Coach: Jeff Mitchell has been with the Bemidji High School soccer program since 2005, starting as the JV coach and then becoming the varsity assistant in 2011. He has twice been selected Assistant Coach of the Year for Section 8, most recently in 2017. Jeff has also been the Head Coach at Bemidji State University, President of Bemidji Youth Soccer and is the current Club Administrator in addition to coaching numerous BYS teams.
Junior Varsity Coach:
Elmer Galdamez has been with the Bemidji High School soccer program since 2013. Elmer was chosen as the Minnesota Assistant Coach of the Year in 2013. He has also coached for BYS.
