Welcome To 7th Grade

I am pleased to be a special education teacher/case manager for this year for Team 7C. This is my tenth year teaching in Brainerd at Forestview and my tenth year teaching on this team. In addition to being the case manager/resource room teacher for 7C, I am also the small group math teacher for all of 7th grade! I am a proud mother of four children ages 16, 12, 9 and 4. I enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, being on the North Shore, recently I have added running to my list of enjoyment, and -last but not least- spending time with family and friends.

Seventh grade is full of new opportunities and challenges. Students may have a rotation class this year, can participate in band, choir or orchestra, have phy ed, history, language arts, science, math or may have a focus class. There are a lot of extra-curricular opportunities for kids to enjoy as well. I strongly encourage having your child participate in at least one activity after school.

My two main goals this year are to provide the support students on an IEP need to be successful in the classroom and to help students become self-advocates in communicating their individual needs to teachers.

To ensure that your child has success it is also important for parents to be involved in their child's education as well. Take the time to talk to your child about what is happening at school as well as checking their agenda books for daily assignments, tests, and important information.
