2024-25 Drumline Auditions

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the 2024-25 Chaska High School Drumline!

This year we will be having you submit your audition components electronically. Please record yourself playing through each of the elements below (separately). Please make sure that we can clearly see you perform your exercises in the videos. We would also recommend that you mark time (move your feet in time) while playing these exercises.  

You should have the videos in a Google Drive folder - please send Mr. Beckler the link to your folder (and change the viewing rights so that we can watch them). Please introduce yourself, especially for those of you that we don't know yet. :) You need to have all of these auditions submitted to Mr. B. (becklert@district112.org) by Friday, May 10th. 

Please note that you will need to prepare the following elements for your audition (pick an instrument and prepare those audition materials - you do NOT need to prepare ALL of these audition materials below, just the ones for your chosen instrument):

Snare 

1. 8 on a Hand at the 4 different dynamic levels

2. 2's and 3's

3. Shuttle Deck

4. Split 'em Up (Cadence #1)

5. Dingo Ate Mah Baby

Bass Drums

1. 8 on a Hand at the 4 different dynamic levels

2. 2's and 3's

3. Split 'em Up (Cadence #1; Choose the drum you are auditioning for and learn that part only; please do NOT record all 5 parts)

4. Dingo Ate My Baby  (Choose the drum you are auditioning for and learn that part only; please do NOT record all 5 parts)
