Training and Workshop
2019 ORYZA Training Program for Basic Applications
22-26 April 2019 @ ITLC, IRRI Headquarters, PhilippinesThe overall goal of this training program is to familiarize participants with the basic functions of the ORYZA model, minimum data requirement to run the model, experimental data collection for model outputs evaluation, parameter calibration, and applying your own dataset in ORYZA.
Program highlights
Demonstrate how processes of crop growth and development, water balance, uptake of water and nutrients, and carbon dynamics can be simulated.
Describe procedures for collecting and managing crop, experimental, weather, and soil data for model evaluation and application.
Make extensive use of “hands-on” sessions applying ORYZA to field experiments.
Give participants the opportunity to work with their own data and determine the accuracy of the model for application to specific problems.
Analyze management alternatives for individual rice season or over long-term crop rotations.
