Hello! My name is Lia Call and I am THRILLED to be teaching orchestra at Indian River Middle School! I grew up in Cazenovia (outside of Syracuse) and have lived in the North Country for the past twelve years. Outside of music I love running, spending time outdoors, and spending time with my beautiful family!

I love teaching because I enjoy watching young people grow and move past what they thought was possible. My main instrument is viola but I love any kind of fiddling as well! I play as much as possible whether it is with the Orchestra of Northern New York or fiddling with a friend in the living room. You'll find some fiddling and elements from the Suzuki approach popping up in our classroom in addition to our orchestra music... a little bit of everything!

I believe that music has something to offer each of us and is essential to the cognitive, social, and emotional development of the whole child in each of our students.
