A Little Bit About The Teacher
Welcome to 2nd grade! I would like to welcome all of my students and their families. As always, the start of a school year holds the promise of new discovery and learning. This is also a great time to be meeting new friends and making long-lasting friendships. I look forward to getting to know your child and helping them reach their full potential.
To give you a little background information about myself; I attended Southern Illinois University where I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and another in Educational Administration, both from William Carey College in Mississippi. I have several years of teaching experience. I have taught various grades in Illinois, Mississippi. and Texas. This will be my 12th year teaching 2nd grade at Peterson.
I have lived in Naperville for 24 years. My husband and I have two daughters. Our oldest daughter graduated from Western Kentucky University and is a dental hygienist. She and her husband live in Chicago. And our youngest daughter is a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago and majored in Comedy Writing and Performance. Both of our children are products of this district, having graduated from Neuqua Valley High School.
EXPECTATIONS:
The following Behavior Plan will be implemented in our classroom. I believe that all students can behave appropriately and be responsible for their choices in order for us to achieve our learning goals. As a guideline, we will observe the following classroom behaviors which align with the Peterson school-wide rules:
