About Your Teachers

Mrs. Friederich

Hello! This is my 27th year of teaching orchestra and I love teaching middle school students!

I am originally from Minnesota and music was a big part of my childhood. I began playing violin at the age of 7 and piano at the age of 8. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from St. Cloud State University. During college I was co-concertmaster of our University orchestra. I completed my Master's Degree in Music Education from Northern Illinois University. Over the past several years, I have continued to take higher education classes to further my education and teaching skills. I live in Oswego with my three children Andrew (17), Ava (15) and Evan (13). I enjoy traveling, fishing, camping, kayaking, hiking, spending time with family and friends and playing cards.

Hello Trailblazers!

This is my third year here at Hill and my fifth year in district 204. I previously taught orchestra at Metea Valley High School for two years and love teaching beginners and middle schoolers here at Hill Middle School!

I grew up in Geneva, Illinois and went to school at DePaul University where I earned My Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education. I am currently pursuing my Masters Degree in Music Education at Vandercook College of Music in Chicago, IL. I primarily play the viola, but also love playing guitar and piano in and out of the classroom. I love the outdoors, particularly fishing and hiking. In addition to being an orchestra teacher here at Hill, I am also one of the Wrestling coaches. I currently live in Chicago and enjoy all the Windy City has to offer. I look forward to having another fantastic year in orchestra here at Hill Middle School!
