Analysis of Petrographic Composition of Ceramics from Đong Lam Site (Bac Giang)

The article provides the results of the petrographic analysis of 11 ceramic samples from the 2002 excavation at the Đông Lâm site in Hương Lâm commune, Hiệp Hòa district, Bắc Giang province. The authors states that the results initially give us basic information about the composition of the ceramics, the origin of the raw materials and the method of mixing materials by the Đông Lâm ancient inhabitants. Accordingly, the Đông Lâm ancient inhabitants were fairly aware of the materials and their characteristics while making ceramics, so that they reasonably mixed the ingredients to make ceramics as their desire.
