Chapter 8 Review
8.1 Learning Targets
I can find the length of a curve using a definite integral and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
I can find the length of a curve by approximating the definite integral using a method of approximation (Left Hand, Right Hand, Midpoint Rule, Trapezoidal Rule, Simpson's Rule).
8.2 Learning Targets
I can find the surface area of a revolution by revolving the function about the x-axis.
I can find the surface area of a revolution by revolving the function about the y-axis.
8.3 Learning Targets
I can calculate the hydrostatic force on a rectangular plane submerged in water parallel to the surface (simple problem).
I can calculate the hydrostatic force on a triangular plane submerged in water (Calculus problem).
I can calculate the hydrostatic force on a parabolic or trapezoidal plane submerged in water (Calculus problem).
