Feel Like "the Man" is picking on you?
Drug testing Random selections are done according to your company policy, if you have any questions please ask your employer if you can read your company's Drug testing policy.
Generally speaking....
#1 every time a random selection is made, EVERYONE has a equal chance of being selected: It doesn't matter if you just did a drug test or you haven't been selected in years, the odds of you getting selected again are the same as everyone else.
#2 Your company may have several testing pools FMCSA, PHMSA, FAA, NON-DOT, you may fall under multiple requirements. So if you Truck pipe to a location (FMCSA), and also work on that pipeline (PHMSA), and your company has a "company policy" (NON-DOT) is a possibly that you may get selected to test three times in the same testing cycle or FMCSA one cycle and PHMSA test the next.
#3 Testing rates vary, FMCSA require at the minimum 50% of drivers per year but may be a higher selection rate. That is not to say that half of the FMCSA drivers will be tested, it means that if your company has 100 Drivers, it will conduct 50 tests randomly pulled from the drivers. This works out to less than 50% of drivers because some drivers will be selected multiple times.
#4 Some companies have other requirements that may require all employees to be tested at least once a year.
