Welcome to the new school year. I am happy to be at IHM and looking forward to working with you. Homework assignments will be posted on my homework board in my classroom. Students are encouraged to become self reliant in using their planners, but this page is available as a reminder to double check. Those students who are absent should have a homework buddy who will let them know what was assigned. All major deadlines will be posted on Google Classroom. Grade 6 - Science:
1. Science Notebook with a pencil and a charged Chromebook has to be brought by the students for all the Science classes.
2. Lab Learner Registration and Login procedure has been completed. If any student is not able to login, please let me know.
5. Student Science Fair packet given to the students on 10/03/2025. Please go through and if any questions are there, please let me know.
6. Lab work on Potential Energy and Kinetic Energy started. Investigation 1 completed. Investigation 2 is in progress.
7. Science Fair project schedule posted in Goggle classroom as well as here in website.
Grade 5 - Science:

Science fair project - Grade 5 and 6
For the research paper of the science fair project, the broad headings may include:
1. Title
The title of your experiment or research. It should be clear, specific, and indicate the focus of your project.
2. Abstract
A brief summary (usually 100-150 words) of your project. It should include the purpose of your experiment, your hypothesis, methods, results, and conclusion.
3. Introduction
Background information about your topic. Explain why the experiment is important and what you hope to learn.
State your research question or problem.
Include any relevant information or facts about the subject you are researching.
4. Hypothesis
A statement predicting the outcome of your experiment. It should be based on prior knowledge or research and be testable.
5. Materials
A list of all the materials you used in your experiment (e.g., equipment, chemicals, supplies).
6. Procedure
Step-by-step instructions on how you conducted the experiment. This should be clear and easy to follow.
7. Results
Present the data you collected during your experiment. Use tables, charts, or graphs to organize and show your results.
Include observations and measurements, but avoid interpretation here.
8. Discussion/Analysis
Interpret your results. Did the experiment support your hypothesis? Why or why not?
Discuss any patterns, trends, or anomalies observed in the data.
Consider possible sources of error or factors that could have affected your results.
9. Conclusion
Summarize your findings and explain what you learned from the experiment.
State whether your hypothesis was correct or incorrect.
Suggest possible improvements to the experiment or areas for further research.
10. References / Bibliography
List any books, websites, or articles you consulted for background information or to support your experiment.
11. Acknowledgements (optional)
Thank anyone who helped you with your experiment, such as teachers, mentors, or family members.
12. Appendix (optional)
Include any additional information, such as raw data, photos, or extra charts that are too large or detailed to include in the main body of the paper.
