Mrs. Goff's Bio

Hello!

My name is Cathy Goff and I am the Elementary Resource Teacher at Idaho Arts Charter School (IACS). This year I will be working with students in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade.

I have worked for IACS for 14 years as both a General Education Teacher in Language Arts and Math, and as a Special Education Resource Teacher for Elementary, Middle School and High School students. This year will be my 15th year and the schools 16th year since it was opened.

I graduated in May of 2006 from Boise State University with a B. A. in Elementary Education (K-8th) and a full endorsement in Special Education (K-12th). I love working at IACS as I have a great love and appreciation for music and the arts as well as seeing students exceed their potential in academics and their life goals.

Here are a few things about me:

*In middle school and high school, I played the same clarinet that my father had played 20 years before me.

*I grew up on a 1,000 acre cattle ranch until I was 16 years old.

*I love horses and competed in several small town rodeos from age 10 to 14.

*I also received the great privilege of carrying the American Flag many times into the rodeo arena.

*I have always been a native of Idaho even though my grandparents moved here from Iowa in 1936.

*I have three daughters, 1 grandson (who is the light of my life), and I have been married to my husband for 5 years.

*I enjoy spending time camping at Silver Creek Plunge with family and friends, reading non-fiction historical novels, and barbecuing with family and friends.

*I love to travel around the US and explore new places. Unfortunately, I did not get to travel this summer, but usually I visit family and friends in Tennessee, Oregon, and California.
