International Students at ICS

ICS welcomes and encourages international applicants. Details on how to study at ICS as an international student in Canada follow below. If you have any further questions, please contact our Academic Registrar at sservices@icscanada.edu.

Persons from a country other than Canada must meet Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regulations for entrance into Canada. To obtain a student visa, a person must have a letter of acceptance as a full-time student at ICS and have proof of financial independence, such as a letter from a bank or a letter from a person or institution who will assume financial responsibility. For details, please visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website. Please note that the processing time and requirements for study permits may vary depending on which country you are applying from.

ICS is a designated educational institution within the International Student Program, please contact our Academic Registrar for the institutional code or search Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's list.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

An applicant whose native language is not English must show evidence of competence to study and write in English at an advanced level. Such an applicant must submit the results of the TOEFL test or the Academic version of IELTS measuring English language proficiency. The TOEFL test may be acquired from Educational Testing Services, Princeton, New Jersey USA (www.toefl.org). Applicants must write the code number 9541 directly on their TOEFL exam for the test score to be mailed to ICS.

Due to the academic rigour involved in program studies at ICS, an applicant must exceed a minimum score of 100 on the internet-based TOEFL test (equivalent to a score of 250 on the computer-based or 600 on the paper-based tests). The minimum required total score is 7.0 on the IELTS Academic test, with at least 6.5 for each component.
