Grading Rubrics

Grading Policy:

No Midterms or Finals for 2022-23 school year.

Assessments: (60%) Includes quizzes, unit tests, and projects. A Quiz will be given after completion of a concept or assignment. Students are encouraged to correct errors made on quizzes within a week. Summative assessment will be given at the end of each unit. A project can be counted as the summative assessment for the Unit.

Assignments: (40%): Each student is responsible for mastering the classwork provided. The purpose of classwork is to give students the opportunity to practice and master the standards. All assignments are due by the specified date and time. All assignments are posted in Google Classroom.

LATE WORK: Late work up to ONE week late (assignments only) will be accepted with no penalty on most assignments. Once the grade is entered into Genesis, there is no updates unless a mistake was made entering the grade. It is the student's responsibility to keep up with the work and to reach out if having trouble completing the work before due date. Ms. Yang will not "hunt you down" or nag you about your assignments.

Student Responsibilities

  • Attendance, punctuality, courtesy, and respect are expected at all times.

    • 5-14 mins is considered tardy to class. Three tardies = one absence.

    • >14 mins is considered cutting class, and referrals will be written up for students cutting class.

    • Loss of Credit occur when:

      • 8 absences in Semester Course

      • 16 absences in Full Year Course

  • Keep a spare pair of sneakers and socks in your locker to have in case you wear open-toed shoes on lab day.

  • Take an initiative for your learning. You get out of it as much as you put into it.
