Grading

Your grade will be based on points earned on projects, tests, quizzes, homework, and in class work. I will try to post grades on the computer as soon as possible. Grades will be determined by the total number of points accumulated divided by the number of points possible during a 9 week period.  

1. 1. Assignments : Homework is intended to help your grade. I only give homework 1-2 times per week.  Every homework assignment is worth five to ten points for effort and completion. Incomplete or no homework will result in zero points and will not be accepted late because we go over the answers in class the day that it’s due. 

   2. Periodically, I choose a homework assignment to grade for accuracy. IF it is a larger graded assignment worth more than 10 points, I will accept late work for REDUCED POINTS.  Every day this larger assignment (for example, projects or Textbook Searches) is missing, the grade will drop by 10% points.

   3. Make-up Work:  You have one day plus the number of days you were absent. It is the students responsibility to ask for missed work which is also always available on Google Classroom on our “Week at a Glance”.  

****Important to note: Parents,  there is a feature on ProgressBook that allows you to create "Alerts"  for when your child has not completed an assignment or has received a low grade.  On the "HOME" screen, click on "ALERTS" located on the left side of the screen. Then follow the prompts.  Our guidance office can help you get this set up if you have any problems.

Grading Scale:

                A: 90-100 

                B: 80-89 

                C: 70-79

                D: 60-69

                F: 59 and below
