Honors Chorus
Rehearsals are every Thursday from 2-3pm in the Chorus Room
AUDITIONS: Oct. 10th 2-3 in the Chorus Room
All students in Band, Chorus, or Orchestra may audition! Grades 6, 7, and 8
Please prepare a verse and a chorus of a somewhat traditional sounding song that highlights your voice and musicality. You may be asked to sight read a simple line or sing a part within a group of students. (The prepared piece will be the majority of the audition, not to worry!)
Please avoid pop music for this audition. Some appropriate selections might be from the Sound of Music, Shenandoah, Star Spangled Banner, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, What a Wonderful World, etc.
About the Honors Chorus:
- This is an auditioned ensemble that consists of about 35 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. We will prepare and perform advanced chorus pieces in a wide variety of styles at school concerts and at the MICCA festival in April. In the past, we have also had the honor of being asked to perform at the State House for the Greek Consulate at the Boston Marathon Wreath Ceremony. We know more about this later in the school year. Typically this date is the Thursday before Patriots Day in April.
