Dear Class,
Welcome to 3rd grade! There is an exciting year awaiting, designed to promote and enhance your growth and development. This very important year promises to be one filled with discovery and adventure!
First, let me tell you a little bit about myself! My name is Stacey Campbell and I am thrilled to be your 3rd grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year! This will be my 21st year teaching! Mr. Campbell and I have two children, Michael and Emily. Michael is entering 9th grade this year and Emily is entering 7th grade. I love teaching and can’t wait to meet you!
Secondly, I know that the start of a new school year can be both super exciting and make you a little nervous. Just remember that no matter what this school year has in store for us, we are all sharing this very special classroom community. I am thrilled that you are part of this community of learners and am excited to spend many productive days together! Here are a few things I’d like you to know:
It is normal to feel a mix of emotions at the start of a new school year. Many students feel excited, nervous, worried, and anxious. Remember that we are in this together and you are not alone!
I care deeply about each and every one of my students. If you ever feel like you need something from me.... help on your work, a listening ear, or guidance on how to handle a problem, please let me know. I am here for you!
We will face challenges, successes, frustrations, and joys together this year. Through it all, I will help you reach for your dreams, encourage you to achieve more than you ever thought you could, and inspire you to be the best possible version of yourself.
I am passionate about teaching and can’t wait to watch you discover, develop, and nurture your own interests and passions.
Third, I bet you are also wondering about what our classroom is like. The structure of our daily activities in 3rd grade is carefully planned to encourage independence, self confidence and group cooperation through large group, small group and one-on-one participation in a variety of engaging, hands-on and interactive experiences. The lessons and activities will incorporate instruction, skill reinforcement and extension in reading, mathematics, writing, science, social studies and social development. In working hard everyday, you will see the depth of your learning and the application of your skills will become more solid and concrete. You will begin to grow into a brilliant 3rd grade scholar!
Lastly, here are a few reminders for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!
1. Purchase and prepare your school supplies and materials found on page 2 of this letter.
2. Bring in your Summer Reading Shelfie!
3. Please bring a spill proof bottle of water and a peanut/tree nut free snack to school everyday.
I am so excited to make this the best school year ever! Enjoy your last days of summer and we can’t wait to meet you soon!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Campbell
