"Human nature will not change. In any future great national trial, compared with the men of this, we shall have as weak and as strong, as silly and as wise, as bad and as good. Let us therefore study the incidents in this as philosophy to learn wisdom from and none of them as wrongs to be avenged." ~Abraham Lincoln
"No matter how carefully records are kept and filed and computerized, they grow fuzzy with time. Stories grow by accretion. Tales accumulate--like dust. The longer the time lapse, the dustier the history--until it degenerates into fables." ~ Isaac Asimov
“That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons of history.” ~Aldous Huxley
"A generation which ignores history has no past...and no future." ~ Robert A. Heinlein
"History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." ~Maya Angelou
"A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history." ~Mahatma Gandhi
This web site is devoted to the five sections of history I teach at Holmdel High School (two sections of AP World History and three sections of U.S. History II), as well as teams and clubs that I coach/advise. The site will be routinely updated and will have information regarding our day-to-day schedule, along with homework assignments, project guidelines and rubrics, and anything else that will help with the student's preparation and performance inside and out of the classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through one of the methods listed towards the bottom of the page.
The U.S. History II online textbook can be found by accessing the Pearson EasyBridge App on your Holmdel/Google account login and Clever.
