In English as a Second Language, we will be working to build you child's ability to speak, listen, read and write both conversationally and academically in English. To be successful in the classroom, students need proficiency in both conversational English and academic language. Below are some links to help you stay informed. WIDA - all entering English Language Learners (ELL) must take an entrance exam designed by WIDA. In addition, all ELLs must take the WIDA proficiency test each spring. This website gives you some information about these tests.
Center for Adult English Language Acquisition - If you would like information about building your English language skills too, this site can be helpful.
NJ Department of Education - This is the state's education website.
Word Reference - This site has online English translation dictionaries for many language.
Google Translate - Translate any words or phrases into many different languages.
