We will be reading and focusing on a story each week and have vocab and comprehension assessments on Friday.  Vocab words will come home on Mondays to study! We will be reading This week’s story is Hoop Genius.   We will be talking about facts and opinions as well as drawing conclusions. 

We will be reviewing skills we have previously talked about this year. 

We are continuing Topic 14.  This topic deals with time, capacity, and mass. 

We are continuing our unit on energy. We will be talking about various types of energy and doing some investigations to go along with them! We will even take a trip out to the solar field at the school (I hope!) to learn more about solar energy. This is our last science topic.  When we finish, we will be using science and social studies time to prepare for the spring state tests. 

We will be starting concept 71.  This concept deals with the bossy r, specifically ar.  Students have an info page at the front of their binder to help them practice this concept throughout the week.  We will have a pretest over words that use this concept on Thursday.  Final test is on Friday.  If your child gets a 100%, they do not have to take the final test on Friday!
