We will be reading and focusing on a story each week and have vocab and comprehension assessments on Friday.  Vocab words will come home on Mondays to study! This week’s story is Cactus Soup.  We will be talking about folktales genre and comparing and contrasting. 

We will be talking about simple and compound sentences this week. 

We are finishing Topic 1.  This topic deals with multiplication and how it relates to addition as well as division and how it relates to subtraction.  We will have a test over this topic on Wednesday. Nov., 12th.  Please continue to practice your multiplication facts so that you can gain your Multiplication Mastery!  To help with mastery, info about Multiplication Sundaes will be coming home Monday! 

We are finishing our unit on soil.  We will have a quiz over this unit on Thursday, Nov., 13th.  A study guide will be coming home Monday to help your child prepare for the quiz!

We will be starting concept 61.  This concept deals with the bossy R sound at the end of words (-ir).  Students have an info page at the front of their binder to help them practice this concept throughout the week.  We will have a pretest over words that use this concept on Thursday.  Final test is on Friday.  If your child gets a 100%, they do not have to take the final test on Friday!
