I grew up in the San Joaquin valley surrounded by vineyards, cherry orchards, pastures with grazing Holstein cows, and a hardworking family.
I attended UC Davis, and earned a Bachelor in Arts in Sociology and Spanish with a minor in Chicano/a Studies. I went on to earn my teaching credential at Sacramento State. Before arriving to San Diego, I taught Spanish in Sacramento for 4 years. I made the move to sunny San Diego 16 years ago, because my “heart” was down here.
I attended grad school at High Tech High Graduate School of Education, and earned a master in School Leadership back in 2012.
We are so excited be be a part of the HTH family, our son started first grade next door!
I love history and learning about different cultures, that often times you’ll find me sharing cool and interesting facts about countries and it's people with my students. I enjoy traveling, and have had the joy of taking students to Spain and Costa Rica. And I am looking forward to another cultural experience. If you love to travel, stop by and let's chat. If you want to become a world traveler, then let's get started!
I will be serving at our Internship Coordinator and Family and Community Engagement Coordinator. I am so excited connect our junior interns with amazing community partners!
