Welcome Letter from Mrs. Rost

August, 2020

WELCOME back to school for the 2020-2021 school year!

This is certainly unprecedented times we are living in, and this year is certain to bring new procedures, ideas, and new ways to create music in a choral setting. Keeping our scholars safe is our number one priority. There is a great deal of information concerning singing and the spread of coronavirus and much of it contradicts one another. That being said, we will do our very best to set protocols in place to allow for the safest choir rehearsals possible. We will be spending more time rehearsing individually and sectionally rather than collectively. We will often use humming as a tool for collective rehearsals. Finally, it will be very important that scholars spend time outside of class learning and practicing their music. As societal changes continue to be the norm, we will work to be flexible and informed with how we approach choral singing in the school setting. Your flexibility will be greatly appreciated.

The Choral Calendar of Events can be found on each choir's individual calendar page, but I fully expect that there will be changes as the year progresses. The concert dates were set in place several months ago and although they will remain on the calendar, I anticipate that live performances may need to be held virtually. There are some wonderfully creative ways in which to do this! I will continue to update scholars and their families through this Choir Website as well as social media.

This website is designed to support the Heritage Academy Choral Music program.I hope that you will find it very useful for “all things choir.” If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I want to assist you in any way I can.

Looking forward,

Mrs. Rost
