    Hello, my name is Pat Seifert. This is my 40th year at Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City, Missouri. Currently, I am currently teaching Advanced Placement English and English IV.

  

Education

I have a Missouri Life Certification for English 7-12. I graduated in 1993 from Lincoln University with a Master of Education School-Teaching Secondary degree. My major was Secondary School Teacher Education with an emphasis in English. I graduated in 1980 from William Woods College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. My major was English and my minors were Secondary Education and Philosophy. I have also taken two graduate English courses at the University of Missouri Columbia, additional education courses at Lincoln University, a graduate course at the University of Kansas City,  and completed requirements for Applied Communications I Certification at Central Missouri State University.  I have completed numerous technology workshops.  During the summer of 2012, I attended a week-long Advanced Placement Literature workshop at Truman State University.  During the summer of 2013, I attended an iPad App workshop.  During the summer of 2014, I attended an ACT as coaches workshop and five technology workshops. During the summer of 2015, I attended a dual enrollment meeting at Lincoln University. During the summer of 2016, I attended two technology workshops. In the summer of 2017, I attended a dual enrollment meeting and English workshop at Lincoln University. In the summer of 2018, I attended a dual enrollment meeting and English workshop at Lincoln University. In the summer of 2019, I attended an online dual credit meeting through Lincoln University.

Activities

I am a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, National Catholic Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. I am a member of St. Peter Parish in Jefferson City, Missouri. I am a lector, mass coordinator, and Eucharistic minister. I also participate in charity walks and volunteer opportunities.
