Mr. J. Murray

My teaching history:

I attended Lakehead University from 1992 - 1997 and received an honours degree with a double major in Economics and Mathematics. From there, I attended York University's concurrent MST education programme for one year to get my bachelor of education degree. Right after graduating, I accepted a job teaching grade 9 and 10 at Thornlea Secondary School in Richmond Hill.

I worked in York Region for 5 years until my wife and I moved out east to Nova Scotia! We spent a year living and working in Halifax and Dartmouth, and moved back to Burlington in 2003. I was supply teaching for the Halton Board when an opportunity came up to take an LTO at TA Blakelock... I jumped at the chance, and was hired by the principal at the time, Mr. Miller! After being shuffled around and spending a year at MM Robinson, i'm back at the school I feel most at home in...

My Family:

My wife Lindsay and I have two beautiful daughter's, Josie and Georgia, and a handsome son, Trevor. We also have calico cat named Izzy! We love being outdoors and exploring different trails in the back woods...

My hobbies and interests:

I have coached volleyball, softball, and many different curling teams. I am a very competitive curler myself, and enjoy "bonspieling" all winter! I love spending time goofing around with my kids! I thoroughly enjoy teaching mathematics at Blakelock, and think the students and staff here are the best!

My credo: "In your life, have as much fun as possible, but never at the expense of anyone else."

Then... (1998 when I started teaching)

... And now!
