You are allowed a SINGLE SIDED 8.5" X 11" Review sheet AND a periodic table for the test.
Concepts:
1. The periodic table is organized in a predictable manner.
2. Chemistry is dangerous so safety systems are in place.
3. Lewis Dot Diagrams allow us to combine elements into compounds quickly.
4. We looked at three types of bonding:
- Ionic
- Polyatomic Ionic
- Molecular (or Covalent)
For each Ionic bonding type you should be able to build it using Lewis Dot Diagrams and the cross method.
For each bonding type you should be able to name the compound or give the formula for the compound.
5. Law of Conservation of Mass
6. Balancing Equations
7. Acids and Bases: What they are, pH scale.
8. Acid/Base Neutralization - what it means and applications
8. Types of Reactions: Synthesis, Decomposition, Single Displacement, Double Displacement
