Welcome to Fifth Grade!

Welcome to our classroom! Fifth grade is a year of challenging and rewarding experiences. Students transition into becoming independent and resourceful lifelong learners as they are encouraged to take ownership over their learning through personal responsibility. So much growth and development happens during this school year, and I am thrilled to be a part of this educational journey with your child as they experience their personal successes!

My expectation for students is that they work hard and challenge themselves to be the best they can be! It is important for students to take risks and make mistakes as these are welcomed learning opportunities. Students will rise to the expectations in our safe and creative learning environment by working hard and diving deeper into skills and concepts learned throughout the school year.

The Essential Outcomes of the district are a guiding compass to support each student as they reach individual achievements! In line with these outcomes, my main goal is to foster children to be respectful and caring individuals, creative innovators and problem solvers, effective and collaborative communicators,  sensitive global citizens, lifelong learners, and effective users and contributors of information. Students will have many experiences and opportunities to enhance these invaluable skills.

West truly is a great place to be and learn. I look forward to working with you and your child as an educational team so we can have a successful, productive, and FUN year of learning together in fifth grade!
