Maria Bondarenko, PhD in cultural studies, is a Russian language lecturer.

Born in Russia and graduated from Far-East Federal University (Vladivostok).

She has been teaching low proficiency level Russian language courses at the University of Montreal (Montreal, Canada) since 2011.

Since 2016, she is ‘back to school’ as a master program student (TÉLUQ) to get a new competence in instructional design focused on e-learning.

Maria is the author of the Russian language textbook in two parts for novice and low intermediate levels: ‘TANDEM’: russianwithmasha.com.

She has been participating in a number of research and instructional design project focused on the following topics:

- telecollaboration with PBLL elements for the low beginning level of Russian L2 acquisition

- ‘flipped classroom’ in low level L2 courses

- instructional videos for Russian L2 courses (MOOC format and for ‘flipped classroom’ approach): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EArlh4fD6lE&t=86s

- complex role paying games and backward design for L2 classes

but also

- computer-assisted semantic analysis of key concepts in discourse of emerging tourism science;

- 'Russian theory' : history, comparative epistemology, reception and misperception of Russian semiotics.
