Ultrasound Pachymetry is a measurement of the thickness of the cornea in micrometers. There are other ways to get this, but ultrasound pachymetry is the most accurate method
Tips:
Please wear gloves when doing this
Please do not "hover- hand"! As with the tonopen, do not be afraid to rest your hand on the patient's face for leverageĀ
If you hover- hand while making prolonged contact with the cornea, you can cause an abrasion with any small involuntary movement!
