BE ON TIME - Be seated and ready to learn when the bell rings.
FOOD AND DRINK - Quiet, non-distracting, food is allowed in my classroom during non-Lab activities. No chip bags, candy wrappers, or messy foods are to be left behind.Water and soft drinks in resealable containers are fine. If you make a mess, you clean it up.
PORTABLE ELECTRONICS - Keep headphones put away and earbuds out of your ears. Be present, keep electronic distractions turned off, silenced, put away, and actively participate in the day’s activities.
RESPECT - Be kind and courteous to everyone in the classroom.
LAB DISSECTIONS- Please remember that these organism are to be used for educational purposes only.
RESTROOM USE - Please use the restroom before or after class.
PERSONAL LEARNING DEVICE (PLD) POLICY - Mrs. Coe allows her students the option of using a cell phone as a personal learning device (PLD) as a means to enhance their education. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that students recognize, to quote from Spiderman, “with great power comes great responsibility.” The power to use technology in the classroom carries with it a responsibility to use it appropriately. Every student is expected to follow all guidelines, written or orally given, and to demonstrate responsible and ethical behavior.
General PLD Usage
Online Code of Conduct:
1. Keep negative comments, unkind words and unprofessional language out of the online classroom. Do not disrupt the lesson in any way.
2. In Zoom you will need to keep your mic muted unless directed by the teacher. This helps cut down on background noise.
3. Your video must display your full name and no nicknames or inappropriate words.
4. Attendance is required the entire time within Zoom. (This is just like class).
5. You are encouraged to let Zoom allow access to your video & microphone so you can participate.
6. Only appropriate backgrounds or lighting may be used with the video feature.
7. You will be asked to participate during online meetings either verbally or within the “chat” feature. The “chat” feature is for ONLY class discussions & will be facilitated by the teacher.
8. Refrain from taking pictures of classmates or teachers during online learning as well as sharing online content without permission. No removing others from the meeting.
9. No uploading of attachments or presenting without permission.
10. All school rules apply. Keep it PG. This means dress code, too.
11. Be courteous to others, respect the “classroom environment.”
12. Zoom is for collaboration, live teaching and Q&A sessions. You may be put into breakout sessions for collaboration.
13. Be respectful and follow all school rules.
14. Your teacher may record the lectures and may be reposted on Google Classroom.
15. Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in administrative repercussions, but not limited to, removal from online discussions (resulting in a possible lack of credit), a decrease in grade, or other means of correction.
16. Be online at the beginning of class (tardies and absences will be recorded)
17. Students and parents are expected to follow the Hart School Districts online policies which are outlined in the Student Handbook.
18. Students are expected to be visible during online class.
