ELA Syllabus 2022-2023

Expectations:

I expect every student to give 100% of effort 100% of the time and take active responsibility in his/her academic success.

Rules:

• • Be on time, on-task, and prepared to work everyday.

  • Cell phones must be put away unless permission to do otherwise is granted by the teacher.

  • Be responsible for your own learning.

  • Respect the teacher, the classroom, and other students.

Assignments: All daily assignments and homework are expected to be returned on time. Homework detention will be assigned when a student does not have the completed assignment.

• • Late/Missing Assignments: -30 points will be deducted off assignments turned in late. Assignments turned in more than 3 days from the due date will receive a zero.

• • Absences: A student that is out with an excused absence will have the same number of days missed to make up the assignment.

Discipline:

All major infractions will result in being sent to the office with a referral.

Minor infractions or violations of classroom rules will follow the procedures below:

• • 1st infraction - Warning

  • 2nd infraction - Parent contact

  • 3rd infraction - Parent contact and detention

  • 4th infraction - Office Referral

Grades:

There will be a minimum of 15 daily grades and 3 test/project grades per six weeks.
