About me:
This is my tenth year teaching ELA at HCHS and my eighteenth year teaching. I've always loved showing people how to do things, and I had some very inspiring English teachers. My father, in fact, was an English professor for a time, and my mother is a registered nurse. I graduated high school in Cobb County and then went to UGA for my undergraduate degree in literature. I worked for a few years at Starbucks and then earned my masters in teaching at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. That's where I first started teaching and where I met my wonderful husband, John. We decided to relocate closer to my mother and to north Georgia, and God led us to a lovely little town I'd never heard of - Tallapoosa. We are members of New Plainview Baptist Church. We have a dog, Hector (named for a Greek mythology hero), and have a daughter, Barbie. I recently earned my specialist in instructional technology through an online program at Valdosta State. I am so grateful to be working at HCHS, where the kids with the best hearts are.
