General music engages students in the musical processes of creating, performing, responding, and connecting in order to cultivate independent music literacy.
Emphasis is on reading standard notation, developing a working vocabulary, appreciation of the essential, historical development of Western Music and civic music, and an introduction to contemporary music technology.
