Ms. Mis

About Me:Tracy Mis resides in the Robertsdale section of Hammond with her husband David Guiden, daughter Paige, and dogs Crede and Cash. “I find comfort and solace in my garden; I escape with a good book; I focus through mediation and yoga; someday I want to learn how to knit.”

Experience:

Ms. Mis has taught middle school math or science for over 20 years. Ms. Mis has also coached Science Olympiad for 15 years, Destination Imagination (a competitive academic team) for 1 year, and has served as the program coordinator for gifted and talented middle school students for 3 years.

Why I Am A Teacher:

“I had my mind set on the teaching vocation since the 5th grade. There is no more worthy vocation than that of an educator. Next to family, there is no more worth a component in a child’s life than education. As a life-long learner, I take great pride in encouraging the virtues of curiosity and discovery in my students and there is no greater field than that of science in which to do so.”
