Welcome to World History and Modern Affairs!
The purpose of World History & Modern Affairs is to understand how different and diverse human societies have interacted and evolved into today’s global community. This course explores various civilizations and globally interconnected systems around the world between the 15th and 20th centuries, while highlighting essential features of what is often referred to as the "early modern world."
This course will touch upon different themes that help promote a better understanding of how various historical forces including political, economic, geographic, and social elements shaped the courses of civilizational developments and global interconnections during particular time periods. These concepts are presented through a combination of examining important historical themes, gaining relevant factual knowledge, and learning how to apply major historical thinking and analytical skills.
