Each homework assignment is worth a maximum of 3 extra credit points in the Homework category.
3 pts: 100% correct
2 pts: 67%+ correct
1 pts: 33%+ correct
Once a homework assignment is completed, turn it in to me. I will grade each problem as right/wrong, hand it back to you, and assign you the score. ALL WORK MUST BE SHOWN TO RECEIVE ANY CREDIT. Any problems that are incorrect may be corrected and resubmitted to regain credit.
The quiz may be attempted after the third lesson. You are required to have received 3 pts on each of the 3 homework assignments in order to attempt this quiz. Again, you must come in during advisement or after school to take the quiz. Your score on this quiz will be added as extra credit to your Quiz category score.
Notes:
Start. Early. Don't procrastinate, as the deadline comes much faster than you think. This gives you more time to ask questions and study for the quiz, where you earn the bulk of the extra credit.
Many of the problems contained in the notes/worksheets can be done on the calculator without much work needing to be shown. On the worksheets, be sure to write down exactly what you are having the calculator do (i.e. if it's a combination, write down what combination you are having the calculator figure out, then write the answer.) Just writing the answer is not good enough.
On the quiz, you may not use any external resources (i.e. Pascal's Triangle). Calculator only.
You may work with others to complete the notes and assignments, but sharing answers is forbidden. As with the Matrices unit, if you plan to continue on to higher-level math courses, you will revisit these topics. Use this opportunity to get a leg up for next year!
