Teacher's Notes

• We are talking about Courage. I will reference Fear from Inside/Out again and we will read Llama, Llama Bully Goat. The Howard Wigglebottoms is focused on Bullying. Be Brave, a teacher must be told.

• We will read: Have You seen my Duckling?, Rabbits and Raindrops, Who is the Beast. All of these books involve nature. 

• We are focusing on the number line again, counting in order and identifying the numbers as we count.

• Our Unit is Discover the Night

• Recognizing the numerals and counting 0 to 5

• The letters A-Z Uppercase/lowercase and the sounds

• Counting out a set of objects up to 10. Once they can do 3 (which is easily held in memory)- it takes a lot of practice counting, lining up the objects, going SLOWLY

• Using a number line to count and to match the numerals to the spoken words

• Identifying patterns in their environment. Copying a pattern. Making their own ABABAB pattern
